A Fountain in Geneva

  Rob and I are here in Geneva, Switzerland this week. He has a lot of meetings and discussions going on. I'm the lucky one and get to enjoy the wonderful weather we're having!

  Yesterday, I spent the afternoon visiting my friend Felicity. At first we did a short meander through some of the shops, but then I was invited to spend the evening at her home. That was a very enjoyable first day. I plan to do a bit of looking around and taking some photos. It's a bit slower going than usual with my walking cast, but I'm really enjoying being out after several weeks of forced rest.

  Here's just one photo I snapped yesterday as we walked between shops before heading out of the city. As I have connectivity to the Internet on a sporadic basis just now, I will try and post as often as I can. Check back often to see what's next! You'll find out as I do.

  Enjoy where you are and be conscientious of how you treat your surroundings. The tourist as well as the local inhabitant of each place have responsibilities to keep this old world going.

Happy Spring! Happy Easter!

Many of us who celebrate Easter honour it on several levels. There are religious ceremonies to commemorate Christ's resurrection from death. The resurrection gives meaning to our Faith and that Christ is reborn in us. For some, this is the most important reason of all to commemorate Easter.

Most of us also grew up with stories of the Easter Bunny delivering colourful eggs and chocolate in baskets to children. Perhaps that is the most pervasive element as we delight in spoiling or children and find ways to give them joy. Who among us doesn't have fond memories of hunting for coloured eggs hidden outside in the garden by our parents or grandparents?

Often we would celebrate one aspect of the feast after the other. First we would go to church to honour Christ and then we'd come home to a family brunch. Thia was followed by a treasure hunt amongst the flowers. Only after church and after lunch were we allowed to hunt for goodies! All of us would take part with my parents pretending they didn't 'know' the eggs were there. That's the way I remember Easter Sunday growing up. We still do that today.
